Are your timber floors starting to look grey and dull? The team from Freedom Flooring can provide professional sanding and polishing to even out any surface, restore shine and increase your floor’s durability. We service customers throughout Newcastle and the Central Coast, including Lake Macquarie, Belmont, Charlestown, Warners Bay, Toronto, Maitland, Adamstown, New Lambton, Wyong and Gosford.
Sanding is the process of removing the top layer of a wooden floor by using abrasive grit paper and other machinery such as the circular polyvac motion machine. This technique is used to smooth out the floor, which allows a new coating to be applied to restore the colour and gloss of your timber. All sanding work is completed via a four-step process to ensure your floor is sanded to perfection.
Once your floor has been sanded, you can then choose a coating to achieve that wow factor you’ve been searching for. Choose between a solvent-based polyurethane, water-based polyurethane or a modified oil formula. Solvent and water-based formulas are available in matte, satin and gloss finishes, while oil coatings only provide satin and gloss.
The main difference between solvent, water and oil formulas are the drying times, application difficulty and odour. Solvent based coatings can enhance the colours of the timber, whilst water-based coatings maintain the natural colours. View our
